Darren is a co-founder of Friarsgate Financial Planning Limited and brings with him a wealth of in-depth knowledge and experience. Darren began his career in 1997 as an apprentice financial adviser at Britannic Assurance. He later held positions at London & Manchester Assurance, Friends Provident and Barclays. Included in Darren’s numerous CII qualifications is the J10 certificate in Discretionary Fund Management.

In 2007, he assumed the role of Business Development Manager at an international company based in Shandong Province and operating in Beijing, Dalian and Guangzhou. In 2010, he returned to Chester as an IFA before co-founding D&G Independent in 2012. In 2019 Friarsgate Financial Planning was formed as a result of the merger of 2 local companies, Arrow Financial Services based in Chester and D&G Independent based in Mold. Darren’s career in business and finance spans twenty-five years. He retains a positive outlook and determination to provide the best possible solutions for his valued customers.

Darren joined Arrow Financial Services in 2009 as a mortgage adviser. Since then he has been awarded the Diploma in Financial Planning and he is Currently working towards the Chartered status.

Before joining Arrow, Darren gained his degree in Business Economics from Durham University.

Emma has worked within Financial Services since 2017, starting out as an Office Junior. Following our merger to Friarsgate in 2019, she is now a member of the Business Support team working alongside the advisers on a variety of different cases. In her spare time, Emma enjoys walking and true crime documentaries.

Peter is a highly experienced whole of market Mortgage Consultant having been authorised by the Financial Conduct Authority (previously Financial Services Authority) for almost twenty years. He is highly versed in all main mortgage products and adeptly secures mortgages for first time buyers, arranges remortgages of existing arrangements, and advises on buy-to-let investments. He also offers guidance on mortgage protection and possesses in-depth knowledge about Government sponsored schemes, such as Help To Buy.

Chloe is our newest member of the team and joined us in June 2021 in a Business Support administration role. She has acquired years of experience in the financial sector and is also studying for her accountancy qualifications. In her spare time Chloe enjoys long walks with her dog Ivor (preferably passing a pub or two!) and is involved in a self-build project with her partner. Chloe also loves to travel and would love to swim with the pigs in the Bahamas. Chloe says that she is very happy to be part of the Friarsgate family.

Dave joined Friarsgate in July 2020 after a long career in financial services, dating back to 1987, as he wanted to offer his customers genuine Independent Advice.

Dave specialises in Group Private Medical insurance for businesses throughout the UK and having joined Friarsgate Dave is proud to say that Friarsgate have now been accepted into the prestigious Association of Medical Insurers and Intermediaries (AMII). Dave also provides advice on other group risk such as Death in Service, Group Income Protection and Group Critical Illness Cover as well as other business insurances such as Relevant Life, Key Person Cover, Share Holder Protection and Business Loan Protection.

Outside work Dave enjoys spending time with his family and friends, especially as Dave’s daughter has recently had their first Grandchild. Along with his wife Dave is a keen traveller and so far, his expeditions have taken them to 6 of the 7 Continents – with only Antarctica left to visit, and plenty of time to get there! Dave also enjoys photography, occasional fishing trips with friends and has been known to do a little clay pigeon shooting

Richard is a Chartered Financial Planner and has achieved the status of “Fellowship of The financial Planning Society” The highest award of the CII.

He joined Arrow Financial Services in October 2012 before moving across to Friarsgate as part of the merger in 2019. Previously he had worked in HSBC for 7 years as a Financial Planning Advisor. Before that he earned his Degree in Accountancy from Cardiff University.

Richard enjoys playing rugby in his spare time and is a fluent Welsh speaker.

Gavin joined Friarsgate Financial Planning in 2019 having previously worked for Arrow Financial Services for several years, starting initially in an administrative capacity, whilst undertaking all the relevant exams to attain my current status of Chartered Financial Planner.  My main hobbies and interests are nearly all sport related, with football, darts and boxing among my favourites, but I also enjoy the countryside, walking, meals out and holidays.

Kevin has been married for 32 years with 2 daughters and one grand-daughter and lives in Middlewich in Cheshire.

Having been in the Financial Services Industry for over 30 years Kevin has provided financial advice and recommendations for people from all walks of life and professions, from doctors and dentists to people already enjoying retirement.

Kevin joined Friarsgate Financial Planning as part of the merger in 2019 having previously worked for Arrow Financial Services.
Kevin’s hobbies include motorcycling, having toured through most of Europe at one time or another, and watching his team Wolverhampton Wanderers as a season ticket holder at “The Golden Palace” which he says has provided plenty of different emotions over the years!

Paul has been a financial advisor for 21 years and Is passionate about building lasting relationships and supporting his clients throughout their financial journey.

Paul is married with 5 children and loves spending time with his family and attending music concerts as often as he can. Paul joined Friarsgate as he loves the dedication they have towards giving excellent service to their clients.

With many year’s experience in banking and finance, Gary is a highly qualified independent financial adviser having initially worked for Barclays and then as a co-director of D&G Independent in Mold. Now as an IFA with Friarsgate, Gary offers impartial advice from the whole of the market on a wide range of financial products

Married to Nicky with two recently graduated children Robert & Holly, Gary enjoys travelling in his newly acquired Motorhome in his spare time and is a supporter and sponsor of Ruthin Town Football Club

Chris has over 30 years’ experience in Financial Services, having started his career in the mortgage department of a local firm of estate agents. Chris became an Independent Financial Adviser in 1987, later running his own successful business specialised in pensions and investments making Chris an excellent all round financial adviser who is committed to providing his clients the best possible advice and service.

Chris joined Arrow Financial Services in 2013 and moved across to Friarsgate in recent years as part of the merger. Chris is married with 3 grown up children. In his spare time Chris still participates in most ball sports and regularly participates in events to raise money for local charities .

Mike joined ArrowFS in May 2011 before transferring to Friarsgate as a result of the merger in 2019. Mike worked for Barclays Corporate as an Independent Adviser for a large part of his career and prior to that he was an adviser with a national insurance company. Mike lives with his family in Liverpool and enjoys golf and fishing in his spare time.

Sue joined ArrowFS in May 2011 before moving to Friarsgate as a result of the merger in 2019. Having worked for many years with both Woolwich Independent and Barclays Bank Sue offers a wealth of experience when dealing with clients on the Wirral where she is also actively involved with a number of charities.

Eddie has been working in Financial Services for over 32 years, with the last 16 years working has an independent financial adviser, predominantly providing retirement and investment advice. Eddie was part of Arrow Financial Services (UK) Ltd and came across to Friarsgate Financial Planning Ltd when the merger took place in 2019.
